Read The Big Storm and get exercise at the same time!

December 23rd, 2009

The Groton Public Library and Groton Parks and Recreation have created a StoryWalk at the Poquonnock Plains Park featuring The Big Storm: A Very Soggy Counting Book.  Starting at the park’s playground, families can read the individually mounted pages from the book as they walk around the track.

The StoryWalk project combines the benefits of physical activity, time outdoors, literacy, and family time.  The concept for the project was developed by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont.

Groton’s StoryWalk will be available for viewing through the end of February.  For more information, please call Groton Parks and Recreation at 860-536-5680 or the Groton Public Library at 860-441-6750.
